OpenAI is preparing to launch a stand-alone app for its video generation AI model Sora 2.
The interface centers on a vertical video feed with swipe-to-scroll controls that closely resembles TikTok, though every clip will be produced by the model. A For You–style page will surface recommended videos via a recommendation algorithm tuned to individual viewers. Content in that feed will be generated entirely by Sora 2 rather than recorded by people. A narrow menu bar runs down the right side of the feed, giving users the option to like, comment, or remix a video. The design aims to let people move quickly from clip to clip with familiar gestures and compact controls. The company has trialed Sora 2 in other settings, and the app places the model at the heart of a dedicated consumer product.
