Smarter machines could alter physical labor across China as AgiBot deploys AI-driven humanoid robots on factory floors. The Shanghai-based company has trained two-armed robots to pick up manufacturing tasks by combining human demonstrations with hands-on practice on actual production lines.
AgiBot's approach lets robots observe people and then refine skills as they run alongside existing assembly work, company engineers say. Early tests show the machines can handle a range of repetitive duties, freeing human workers for oversight and more complex steps. Trials included pick-and-place, fastening and inspection tasks carried out on live assembly lines. The development highlights the growing role of adaptable robotics in Chinese industry and raises questions about future workforce changes.
