To use these models well, keep your prompts simple and direct. For example, instead of saying, "Can you please explain in detail how photosynthesis works considering all the processes?" just say, "Explain how photosynthesis works." The shorter, direct prompt is easier for the AI to understand.

Avoid using "chain of thought" prompting. Don't ask the AI to think step by step. Instead of saying, "Think step by step and explain how to find the square root of 16," just ask, "What is the square root of 16?" The AI will do the reasoning steps internally.

Use delimiters for clarity. Separate parts of your input with special characters. For example, use quotation marks to separate different sections of your prompts. This helps the AI understand what you want.

Don't give too much extra information. When adding context, keep it focused. Instead of saying, "Here is a 20-page document on climate change; summarize the key points," say, "Summarize the key points about global warming from this excerpt." This keeps the AI focused on what's important.

Choose the 01 preview for tasks needing deep reasoning and complex problem solving. It's great for scientific research, legal analysis, and advanced data analysis. It’s slower but very thorough.

The 01 mini is perfect for routine tasks that need quick answers. It’s good for coding, data validation, and simple math problems. It's faster and more cost-effective, making it ideal for high-volume applications.
